Once I gave my user the rights via right-clicking the key, clicking Permissions and giving my current user all permissons, the problem was solved.ĪSIO4ALL and the Steinberg drivers now work with Ableton Live 9 64 Bit. Once I installed the 32 Bit version of 6.1.2, ASIO showed up again.

ASIO4All was detected by Ableton Live 9 32 Bit 6.0.3 (default version from the CD) without problems, but failed to show up on Ableton Live 9 64 Bit 6.1.2. My user, despite being an administrator, didn't have the rights to access this key. I can confirm this is a 32 Bit / 64 Bit issue. I used Process Monitor to track the problem and it turns out this key was to blame: The 32 Bit registry keys were accessible, while the 64 Bit keys weren't, so the driver path for the 64 Bit version couldn't be resolved. Next, drag and drop an audio sample from Live’s Browser or Finder/File Explorer onto the Audio Track. The 64 Bit version of Live accesses different registry keys than the 32 Bit version, which was the cause of my problem. To use Melodyne in Ableton, start by creating an Audio Track by selecting ‘Insert Audio Track’ from the Create menu or by pressing COMMAND + T on Mac or CNTRL + T on Windows. Live checks the Windows Registry to find the ASIO drivers, in my case: C:\Program Files (x86)\Yamaha\Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver\ysusb_asio32.dll for the 32 Bit version. The problem was that ASIO wasn't getting initialized at all when loading Live. It was not, the Steinberg ASIO driver only showed up in the 32 Bit version as well. I even bought a new Steinberg UR22 with native ASIO drivers because I thought ASIO4ALL was bugged. They had never heard of this problem either. I resorted to using the 32 Bit version for the time being, but Live was crashing quite frequently (probably due to memory shortages), which annoyed me so much that I contacted support. I was using my Onboard Soundcard with ASIO4ALL but couldn't get the ASIO option to show up in the 64 Bit Live 9 menu on Windows 7 64 Bit. This is getting really annoying at this point. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Why would Ableton Live 8 be the only DAW that is able to locate and use the ASIO drivers? The only other idea I have involves performing a factory reset and reinstalling Windows 7. The weird thing is, my version of Live 8 is the only DAW on my laptop that recognizes the ASIO drivers! I also run the latest version of Reaper, and the preferences menu says, "No ASIO drivers found". Still, the only driver option is the MME/DX driver (major latency problems btw). I've reinstalled the latest drivers for my M-Audio Mobile Pre, reinstalled Live 9, and reinstalled ASIO4ALL. For some reason, Live 9 won't recognize any ASIO drivers in the preferences/audio menu.
